If you order 2 Dozen, you will receive 24 unique wines, if you order 1 Dozen, you will receive 12 unique wines and you can be assured none are from the same winery. Participating wineries and their wines in the all new Shortest Lunch packs are listed below. Pair each with a recommended bite and enjoy a gastronomical adventure while housebound. The wines range from $24 to $45 in value, with each case heavily reduced to just $300 and cases averaging a full retail value of $390. A saving of $90.

Also available is a six bottle pack of mixed wines valued at over $195 reduced to $155. A saving of $40.

Five Oaks

The 2016 Merlot carries on in our tradition of producing elegant and rich smooth Merlots, very similar to the 2013. Reflecting our fantastic, finest ever 2016 vintage, this medium-bodied Merlot displays dark berry aromas and flavours, complemented by spicy nuances derived from 18 months maturation in French Oak barrels. It is lovely to drink now and to at least 2032.

Bottled in July 2019 this Cabernet Sauvignon celebrates the 40th anniversary of the planting of our vineyard in 1978. The grapes for this wine were hand-picked on 29 March 2018, crushed the same day, inoculated with a cool-fermenting Bordeaux isolate yeast and then fermented over 14 days. The wine was subsequently matured for 15 months in tight-grained, one-year-old French oak barrels. It has as an imposing presence now, exuding classic cassis and dark berry fruits with a firm underlying tannin backbone. Many will enjoy this youthful wine now. Yet it is a wine for the long haul that will mellow and develop complexity over the next 5-6 years into a seamless wine typical of Five Oaks' Cabernets of the past 25 years.

Soumah yarra valley

Crisp and refreshing, this dry white follows the Italian tradition of blending all varieties from the vineyard into one multifaceted and complete wine. As the acronym on the front label suggests, this is a blend of our Savagnin, Chardonnay, Viognier and Pinot Grigio. We blend these in varying quantities, ensuring the wine is the complete package of fruit and balanced acidity. It is a wine from our hills and speaks of the land on which it is grown.

Pair with pan-fried scallops served with salsa verde, crisp pancetta and lemon.

The classic pairing of two noble north western Italian varieties combine here to create a savoury, elegant red wine with soft fruit and charming length. The Nebbiolo brings excellent tannin structure and finesse with aromas of wild herbs and violets, while the Barbera compliments with ripe, red berry flavours and velvety mouth feel.

Pizza is the perfect match for this mighty red- try spicy salami, olive, fresh capsicum and mozzarella on a tomato base or the classic favourite – Margherita!

Steels creek logo

Sutherland Estate

Aromas of toasty croissant, nashi pear and almond flakes. Made in the méthode traditionnelle, this sparkling wine underwent secondary fermentation and ageing in the bottle. Four years on yeast lees has led to rich aromas and a complex, generous and long palate. A fine persistent bead lends a lively mouthfeel.

Our Blanc de Blancs drinks beautifully with fresh seafood including oysters and salmon gravalax. My favourite is served with dukkah crusted salmon on the barbeque!

It is also delicious served with Japanese, or on a lazy Sunday afternoon with triple cream Brie and roasted nuts.

The fresh acidity of the sparkling even goes well with fish and chips!

Tokar logo 2014
Tokar Estate

2018 Tokar Estate Chardonnay RRP $30.00
This modern Yarra Valley Chardonnay was estate grown from mature vines in Coldstream. The fruit was picked with a mix of golden and green berries. From the green berries we get the lemon/lime acidity and drive. The golden berries have received more sunlight and they deliver stone fruit flavours.
The grapes were hand picked and pressed with the cloudy juice going to barrel (500L French oak Puncheons) for fermentation using wild yeasts. Malo was not encouraged with this wine and the wine remained in barrel with the yeast for six months. This time in barrel has given the wine complexity and richness whilst keeping the wine fresh and youthful. With flavours of nectarine, lime and hazelnuts, this wine makes a wonderful match with your summer seafood and salads.

Food pairing - Garfish / Tokar Estate Chardonnay / Smoked Salmon Roe

2019 Tokar Estate 'Carafe & Tumbler’ Pinot Noir Shiraz RRP $30.00
