WINEMAKING NOTES
Hand-picked and sorted from our Kangaroo Ground vineyard, this is the first vintage of Grenache we have produced as a single variety. Previously we used it in a blend of Shiraz and Viognier. In the winery, the wine was crushed, de-stemmed and fermented on skins for 10 days. After pressing, the wine was transferred to a combination of new and season French oak for 12 months. Drink now or cellar up to 5 years.

93 Points Halliday Wine Companion
This smells wonderful with wafts of red licorice and cherries, a touch of musk and pomegranate with an enticing array of Middle Eastern spices. It's soft, a little juicy and tangy. More herbal tones come into play and the skein of tannins pull the wine this way and that, leading to a slight astringent finish. But overall, a pleasing wine. The inaugural release, too.
